14 Days Of Sunshine - 5

Favorite Tomato Salad
To feed 4 you'll need:
-two small golden onions or 6 little red ones
-fresh cilantro, about 3 tablespoons finely chopped
-one cucumber, finely chopped
-salt, pepper and paprika powder
-olive oil 4 tablespoons
-vinegar 2 teaspoons
-2 tablespoons of water
-roughly 8 medium size, ripe tomatoes

-Chop the onions really fine, as well as the cilantro.
-Mix the oil, vinegar and water in a bowl, add the onions and the cilantro, as well as a few pinches of salt, pepper and paprika powder. Mix well.
-Cut the tomatoes and cucumber in small cubes and add them to the bowl.
-Let stand for 30 minutes, tossing the salad a few times.

Optional you could add some crumbled feta cheese.
Enjoy! Best of course with homegrown tomatoes.

This time there is even some knitting!

Since I've been working on my Christmas list this is a rare sight, but here is a finished project that has been planned for quite some time.

Just a few months after Elijah was born one of my cousins gave birth to a little girl. But as I have spend so much time in hospital and have frankly not wanted to knit such a delicate present with all those negative things happening around me I did not really acknowledge the need for a welcoming present yet.
I felt it was high time to let Lilliana know that she is most welcome in this world.
And what little girl likes a cold head?

As you see in the pictures I had to bribe Elijah with the grandpa's cellphone or he would have refused any modeling shots altogether. It must have been awfully hot under there, it's been a pretty warm day and I just had to use the beautiful "Rowans Tapestry", which does better suit a cold Chicago winter. But the big, yet to be named Teddy was very friendly and lend me his furry head. (It is a boy, I know for sure, OK?)
